The gateway to Amish country

The gateway to Amish country

Another event is in the books. We did the Farmstead Vintage Market and honestly, I don't think I've eaten better being away for an event. I've been to Texas, Florida, Tennessee, and Georgia outside of my own state of Ohio for events. This by far was the tastiest trip we've had yet.

We stayed in Wooster which was beautiful. A clean, well thought out, historic town. Nearly every building downtown was older, massive and pristine. They turned their alleyways into sitting areas with hanging lights. Plenty of great bars, restaurants and largest, prettiest Ace Hardware I've ever seen!

We stayed at The Best Western downtown. We picked it because it was walking distance to everything. We ate at the City Sqaure Steak House.  It was amazing. I had the lemon chicken, my husband had the fresh catch which was cod. All of it was great including my drink - a strawberry mule. I love a mule in any flavor.

The Farmstead Market is a one day, once a year event. A unicorn of events. Hardly ever do we find a one day gig that brings in a crowd - and only once a year. This was well attended and by some of the nicest people we've met at a market. I highly recommend checking it out next July. Hopefully our schedules align and we make it there too!

We ate and drank that day at three different coffee and food trucks. Coffee from Otts was fantastic. Lunch was the Eccentric Panda where we had Hawaiin wraps and street fries. I'll be dreaming about those fries for the foreseeable future.

To finish our trip we grabbed Amish baked donuts from Merrybrook Baking Company. We were supposed to be cutting down sugar in our diet, but....these were worth the splurge. So good.

I made a new friend, Honey Shea Studios who makes jewelry and does semi permanent bracelets and anklets. She had come earlier in the day and bought some tees from us, so I knew I had to find her and see what she made. I am in love with my new bracelet.

We also dressed a bunch of new friends in our hand drawn art and apparel!

We sent home our hand printed wall art with lots of new faces.
